AMSOIL
Proven Best: The History Behind, "The First In Synthetics"
Albert J. Amatuzio, President and CEO of AMSOIL Inc., recently
announced that the phrase "First in Synthetics" is now part of the AMSOIL
registered trademark. No other oil company in the world can claim to be first.
Mr. Amatuzio told an interesting story as to how this came about.
AMSOIL applied
to have this statement registered and was told that they must prove to the
trademark officials, by documentation, that AMSOIL
Synthetic Oil was the first,
historically. However, they also said that by claiming to be first, we were
insinuating we were the best (or #1/first) from a quality or performance
standpoint.
So AMSOIL had to convince them that they had the best product to
also claim to be first. AMSOIL proceeded to present comparison documentation and
test results backing up the claim that AMSOIL was also the best. Yes! The
trademark officials accepted the documentation to allow AMSOIL
to use "first" in
their trademark.
But the process was not through. The procedure now required the government to
notify all other oil manufacturers that would be impacted by the decision, so
they would have input before this decision would be official. They were notified
in writing and given 90 days to object, comment or respond. The 90 days elapsed
without a peep!
AMSOIL not only convinced the trademark office that
AMSOIL
Synthetic Oil was the first historically, but also convinced them that AMSOIL
is
the first in quality, and no other competitor objected!
In fact, Mr. A.J. Amatuzio, founder, President and CEO of AMSOIL states that he often hears other companies ad slogans stating that their
products are the best. They are not. Mobil 1 has run the tag line for their
advertising, "nothing outperforms Mobil 1". A.J. Amatuzio states
that he knows a company that does make products that outperform Mobil 1. "And
you know which company that is. Mobil makes a very good oil, but I am here to
tell you that that it does not outperform AMSOIL Synthetic Motor Oils.
They can come out with advertising buzz words to market their oils, but in the
final analysis, buzz words don't add one thing to their products performance.
The only reason that AMSOIL has continued to grow and prosper competing with
large corporations like Mobil is that AMSOIL products have consistently
performed better
AMSOIL
INC. has no fear of increased competition from other oil companies on any level,
whether it be performance or service life.

perform better than any product on the market. AMSOIL’s published tests and over
thirty years of satisfied customers prove it.
During
AMSOIL's
30th anniversary convention in the summer of 2003, Bobby Unser got up on stage
and told about how his
race car differentials could not survive more than one
race up Pikes Peak without needing to be rebuilt, until he started using
AMSOIL.
Then his differentials went all race season without
needing to be rebuilt. This experience in Bobby's early years of racing began
his long relationship with
AMSOIL
in all his race cars. Bobby went on to say that:
